Terms of Use

This site is owned and operated by Jennifer J. Lacelle (Ramble & Write) and is an e-commerce, blog, and magazine. By using this site you indicate that you have read, and agree, to the terms and conditions henceforth.

Intellectual Property. All content published by J.R&W remains the full property of J.R&W and the site's creators. This includes, but not limited to, text, photos, logos, documents, downloadable items, or anything that contributes to the composition of the site.

Accounts. When you create an account (membership) on this site, you agree to the following: 

  • You are solely responsible for your account and the security and privacy of said account, including passwords and sensitive information attached to that account; and,

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or are using unlawfully.

Except where prohibited by law, by using this site you indemnify and hold harmless J.R&W and our directors, officers, agents, officials, staff, agents, subsidiaries, and affiliates from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses, including legal fees arising out of your use of the site or violating these terms of use.

Applicable Law. This site is governed by the laws of the province of Ontario, Canada.

Privacy & Cookie Policy

This site is owned and operated by Jennifer J. Lacelle (Ramble & Write) and is an e-commerce, blog, and magazine. By using this site you indicate that you have read and agree to the following Privacy Policy.

Purpose. The purpose of this PP is to provide users with the following information:

  • The personal data we collect

  • Use of collected data

  • Who has access to said data

  • Right of site users

  • Site's cookie policy

The PP applies in addition to our Terms of Use and Copyright statements.

GDPR. For users in the European Union, we adhere to the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, known as the General Data Protection Regulation. For users in the United Kingdom, we adhere to the GDPR as enshrined in the 2018 Data Protection. (As part of this regulation, we are required to have a cookie policy, privacy policy and terms of use policy.)

Consent. By using our site, users agree to the conditions set out by this policy.

Legal Basis for Processing. We collect and process personal data from users when they register as members. Cookies (text used to remind sites/search engines to remember a user) may be used and stored for easy access to the site (for users). This may be automatic (general site use, search, etc.) or active (registering as a member).

How We Use Personal Data.

Employees: information may be disclosed to any member of our organization who reasonably needs access to such information to perform the duties of their job and perform the duties set in these policies.

Other Disclosures: we do not sell or share your information with third parties, except in the following cases:

  • Proof to protect our legal rights

  • Buyers or potential buyers of this site

If you follow hyperlinks/links to another site, we are not responsible for or control their privacy policies, terms or use, copyright or cookie policy.

How Long We Store Personal Data. For as long as it is applicable and relevant to the site and user.

How We Protect Your Personal Data. We do not share or sell your personal information to anyone. Any employee who has gained access to such information will be required to delete or store information in appropriate file/folder not accessible outside of the business.

While we take measures to ensure you data is secured, there is always a risk in sharing information. The internet as a whole can be a place of risk and as such, we cannot guarantee security of data shared with our site beyond reasonable measures.

Your Rights as a User.

Children. We do not knowingly collect the data or information of any persons under the age of 16. If we learn collected data if from a user under the age of 16, we will remove said information and account as soon as possible. If a child under the age of 16 has provided us with personal information then the parent(s)/guardian(s) have the right to contact us to discuss.

How to Access, Modify, Delete, or Challenge Data Collected. If you'd like to know whether or not we've collected your personal data, or how it's been used or whether or not it's been disclosed, or if you'd like it deleted or modified or would like to use your rights under the GDPR, please reach out to the Data Protection Manager.

Do Not Track Notice. A DNT is a privacy preference you can set up in particular browsers. We don't track the users of this site across time or third party sites. Therefore, you don't need to respond to browser-initiated DNT signals. 

​

Cookie Policy. A cookie is a small file that is stored on a user's hard drive by a site. It's purpose is to collect data that relates to the user's browsing habits. Users are able to select notifications every time one is transmitted to their drive. However, users are also able to disable this entirely though it may decrease the quality of experience on said site.

The Cookies on Ramble & Write Magazine. Thus far, the cookies used by R&WM is pertinent to the "Article Page." If you go to third-party sites, we are not in control of their site regulations, cookies, policies, etc.

Modifications. Our policies may be amended from time to time per our discretion. This is to remain in accordance with laws and reflect changes to data collection. When this is emended, a new date will be placed at the top of the page indicating when the change was made and effective. We advise site users to check periodically to view any possible changes and are aware of them. If necessary, we may send an email to subscribed users of any changes made to the policies.

Complaints. If you have any issues or complaints about the processing of personal data, please contact us through the forms on our contact page so we may address your concerns as best we can and try to resolve the issue with you. If you feel the issue has not been resolved, you are more than welcome to contact a supervisory board, as if your right. You also have the right to make a complaint directly to said supervisory board.
