Dai Belcourt, a regular teen in a family of witches, is shunned by family and bullied by most of her school for her plus-sized body. Hiding in the public library is her favourite reprieve until a strange woman, O'Maya Granmar, approaches her and places a death curse on Dai.

She is sent to Asgard by her grandmother where time is slowed and witches are publicly respected. However, the O'Maya follows her into Asgard and the clock on the curse begins ticking again.

Now Dai must learn Asgardian skills to stay alive and finish the fight herself, discovering she's far more than ordinary along the way.
